The devastation continues!

Neat and tidy room eh . . . . Why would we leave it that way?!

Where there once was a fireplace . . . . .

Do away with that then!

Monday 21 November 2011

The stairs - now you see them

. . . And then  . . . .
This room
And this room
Become one - the stairs and the two walls were in the middle!

This was the same room (from the back with the stairs on the righthand side behind the wall)
Which then looked like this

And then looked like this!! Hopefully the stone wall will clean up and a fireplace will be put in there for a woodburner and this now large room will be our lounge and dining room

So . . . no stairs, no doors, no ceilings, no walls, and no floor! Not alot left!! oh its okay, Mikes still here!

What was the lounge . . . . .

'Before' The back of the room, including the stairs.
'During'The back of the room with the stairs removed

'Before' The old fireplace and side wall
'During' Fireplace removed and stone inglenook revealed

What was the lounge which we think will be our kitchen.

Progress of 'The Smithy'

The Smithy

End of the Smithy 'before'
End of the Smithy 'after'
This outbuilding will probably be a workshop for Mike to play around in!

The chimney at on the end of this Smithy seems to have been used by a pair of Barn Owls for nesting and breeding. We hope our activities wont discourage them from returning here again.
Along the front of the Smithy, all strimmed!

Lean to next to the Smithy, full of rubbish!

Chocablock with rubbish!
From Floor to roof!

And . . . . . All gone!

The fire etc at the end of the Smithy

You can just see the barn owl nest of twigs coming down the chimney!

From the outside!

We officially got the keys to our new place 'Mur Cwpwl' on 4th November 2011 after more than just a few delays!
The front
From the back
This is to be a record of all the alterations, demolition, extensions and improvements we will make to the wonderful place that we will be calling 'home'
